Before
they are relayed they must be unpacked following the numbering and labelling,
in order to verify and check the panel. This technique enables us to detect
wrong or damaged tiles, and to study the panel relaying orientation allowing
us to use almost all of them again.

The
type of mortar used in this type of relaying must be of the same quality
of the support. Burned lime mortars must be used, so as to respect the building
principle and the teachings of the old masters. This kind of mortar provides
better handling and by using it we can also prevent future pathologies,
so often caused by modern mortars, since this kind of rough material is
not resistant enough.

In this case mortar stone walls form the
support, and it is necessary to apply a first layer of plaster on the wall
before relaying the tiles, thus creating a base for the tile to be laid.
