As Phoenix reborn from the ashes, the house gains soul and charisma. From the amalgam of cement and bricks, appears as by miracle a luminous and bright house where everything conjugates for the comfort and serenity of those who will occupy it.

Situated on top of Serra de São Francisco, overseeing Vale dos Barris, in the centre of Parque Natural da Arrábida - that inspired the whole project's design and conception - it seems to want to mingle with the landscape so adapted it is to it.

The owner of the house fell in love with the environment and purchased the property with an unfinished house so vandalized that it was almost consumed by fire

The rebuilding work consisted in the ruins rehabilitation using as much as possible the existing structure and adapting it so as to be more resistant and stable to support the enlargement of the balconies which allow the owner to enjoy and capture the local atmosphere. Together with these aesthetic aspects base infrastructures were also rehabilitated through the replacement of the water, sewerage electric and gas systems.

Following the inspiration of the mountains and valley serenity simple materials were used always taking into account comfort and space. Texture paints were used outside and water paints in the inside over fine threaded plaster. Kitchen and WC furniture are Paulo Jones, Lda., conceived and built in own workshop.
