A leisure area in a country scenery

Traditionally yellowish lime based mortar very different from today's cement was used during the recovery. The house structural pillar was covered with handmade tijolo-burro (very thick and compact brick) and the counter has a new aged stone sink added on purpose. Seen from the outside, the one-family two-floor house has a modern design, with straight lines. The cellar area, in the basement, had a cold atmosphere, not at all adapted to a social gathering area. But the owner, a manufacturer whose family lives in the house, missed old times spent in the country and wanted to reinvent them. As in those gatherings where men meet just to talk, while tasting food and wine, he readpated the cellar, transforming it into a leisure facility, in a rustic environment. And thus, something of the country spirit was transferred to a house situated not far from the capital.

Some problems were found related to the zone brittleness level. As it was thus necessary to create structures and swerage to turn the water from its previous course, all pipes were replaced. The client wanted a place to wash the dishes and hide the dishwasher. The concrete wall near the door had to go back, towards the bathroom on the other side. The wall was made of concrete and not stone as we first thought. It took a little bit longer and some art and skill was needed in order to solve the problem.
